Ask and Ye shall Receive.

I had a nice place to sleep last night. It was pretty funny as the roof above me was metal. The air was so humid that there were drips coming off the roof into my tent. It wasn’t a lot, but every once in a while, a drop would hit me in the face.

There was a little cafe down the street that opened at 6:00 am. When I got there, I discovered that it was only open, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

As I was leaving town, I had a stray dog follow me. She was a sweet dog. She stayed with me for about half a mile and ran back home.

The walk was very nice. Beautiful scenery and wide shoulders. I had three different butterflies land on me or the cart. Each one rode for about 20 minutes before flying off.

As I was walking, into part of Huntsville, AR, Robert pulled over in front of me to check on me. He was on his way to his grandmothers that was having a heart issue. He just wanted to make sure I was ok.

As I arrived at the Walmart to get some water, one of my blisters was causing me a problem. I told God that if someone came by and offered me a ride to Marble, AR I would go. It was a couple miles away. A few minutes later, Duane came by and said he was going to Marble if I wanted a ride. I can’t make this stuff up. He had a trailer that he was towing a tractor. I was able to put it on there.

While Duane was in shopping, a reporter from the Madison County Recorder came up to me. He said someone had contacted him that had seen me walking and said I bet you there is a good story there. He interviewed and I will let you know when it comes out.

I made it into Marble today. I am hanging out at the Kings River Country Store. I am excited as I will get a salad. The staff is pretty cool and I am just hanging out until it gets dark.

Off to Harrison tomorrow.

I have recently retired after 30 years in law enforcement and a few years in the private sector. I have always enjoyed walking form place to place.  One of my favorite assignments was working overtime in our tourist area.  It was a blast to walk around for about 7 hours throughout the Downtown area.

In 2016, I read a book, "Wild at Heart" by John Eldredge.  In November of 2016, I decided to do my "walkabout" with God from Santa Cruz to Los Angeles.  I had a blast walking along the Pacific Coast.  It was a beautiful experience.  I learned so many things on this walk.  The main lesson was God was talking to me, I just was not listening.  He was there with me on my walk, I just was not realizing the signs.

I have always been intrigued about walking the PCT, AFT, the Continental Divide and Appalachian Trial.  The one trip that stuck out with me was walking across the United States.
